Essential oils are the aromatic compounds extracted from plants through a distillation process in which the oil provides a natural health option to benefit our bodies.
Essential oils have been used throughout history in many cultures for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits.
Unfortunately, not all essential oils are created equal!
The truth about purity
There are so many options when it comes to Essential Oils. These days
you can buy oils pretty much anywhere.
You may think you are getting great oil as they may smell good, but the truth is you may not be getting the real deal and your health can suffer because of it.
Unfortunately the reality is that Essential Oils are not regulated so purity and quality are not always what they seem. It is important to know and trust where your oils come from.
You can buy essential oils with as little as 10% pure oil in it but labeling can say 100% pure. Currently the only requirement to say “100% pure oil” is that 10% of the bottle is true pure oil.
This means the other 90% is most likely fillers - rubbing alcohol, water, carrier oils and harmful additives. This is why you can go into a big bargain store and see all the oils marked the same price. Unfortunately you are getting a fraction of the health benefit and you could be potentially putting your health at risk with additives and synthetics.
How doterra is different.
doTERRA puts quality above anything else from the time the seed is planted to the time it arrives to your door.
Rather than using a middle man and not having a relationship with the farmers, doTERRA seeks out where each plant is grown indigenously and forms a partnership with the local farmers to grow, harvest and distill the plant for doTERRA specifically. All while paying them fair wages and taking care of their communities. We call this Co-Impact Sourcing.
Once they get their oil from the farmers, they then test each batch for 54 different purity/potency tests and also send each batch out to a 3rd party testing lab to ensure the final product is pure and has the highest therapeutic benefits for your overall wellness.
Our oils are certified to be free from herbicides, pesticides, fungicides and heavy metals and are safe for aromatic, topical AND internal use.
